Fresh local farm stall produce The road to Uki from Murwillumbah has for many years been blessed with a farm stall that provides fresh local produce seven days a week. Much of what is sold at the stall is locally grown. In fact in the right season the corn crop is planted right to the edge of the roadway.
The stall is run by the extended Guinea family who have been resident in the Tweed Valley region since the 1800s. In fact the first Guineas arrived with the first fleet from Ireland.
Seen here is Myrna who keeps the displays up to scratch and welcomes locals and passing visitors alike. Unlike the supermarkets, this authentic stall relies on open air displays and no airconditioning. On very hot days in summer a sprinkler rotates on the roof and keeps produce and customers cool. Thats how we like it...down to earth, local, fresh, authentic and well priced.
Next time you are passing, make sure you stop for a visit and support this long standing local business.
