Kayaking on the river
Peter and son Josh, are seen here getting some practise with the convent kayak.

The river below the convent has interesting nooks and crannies to explore and the rapids too.

A one hour trip down river will take you past the town of Uki and allow you to have fun negotiating at least six rapids. Getting back uphill is slightly more tricky but almost as much fun. Do expect to get thoroughly wet! For the more adventurous, one can keep going to the Mt Warning turnoff and beyond.

If you want to test the big open water, then take the short drive up to our local Clarrie Hall Dam where you can also rent more canoes and kayaks.

The scenery is breathtaking, with forest surrounding you in seemingly endless headlands. Then there are the water lillies.......
